Bachelor of Science in Health Science/Online Master of Public Health (4+1 BSHS/Online MPH)

The University of Miami’s School of Nursing and Health Studies (SONHS) and the Department of Public Health Sciences (DPHS) offer a 4+1 program that combines a Bachelor of Science in Health Science (BSHS) and an Online Master in Public Health (Online MPH) degree. This five-year, dual-degree program is an excellent opportunity to bring together already developed academic programs as the need for public health professionals grows exponentially. If accepted, students complete the combined bachelor’s and master’s degrees in 5 years.

To be eligible, applicants must apply for the program through the SOPHAS admissions portal during the Fall or Spring semester of their second (sophomore) or third (junior) undergraduate year. Admission decisions regarding the entry of BSHS students into the Online MPH are made solely by the Admissions Committee of the Online MPH Program. Applicants must be in good academic standing as defined by the School of Nursing at the time of submission. Students must meet minimum admissions standards at the time of acceptance, as well as upon completion of their BSHS degree. Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA in health sciences undergraduate coursework to be considered for the program.
