The Department of Public Health Sciences, Graduate Programs offers our students funding opportunities through the following programs:

MPH & MSPH Public Health Capstone & Thesis Project Award (Deadline: Rolling)

This funding opportunity provides support for national or international travel to MPH and MSPH students who wish to conduct their Capstone Field Experience outside of the city of Miami, or for funds needed for the MPH Capstone Project or MSPH Thesis Project. Funding is available up to $2,000 per award.

MPH & MSPH Public Health Conference Award (Deadline: Rolling)

This funding opportunity provides support for MPH and MSPH students to attend a public health conference of their choice. Students must have an abstract accepted to the conference in order to be eligible for the award. Funding is available up to $500 per award.

Kuvin Foundation - M.I.S.H. Fellowship

The Miami Israel Science and Health (MISH) fellowship is an established partnership between the University of Miami and the Kuvin Foundation. The MISH fellowship is granted by the Kuvin Foundation, specifically to the University of Miami’s MPH, MSPH and MD/MPH students. It is designed to support travel and work in a foreign country dedicated to the Foundation’s mission – building peace in the Middle East region through science. The Fellowship is intended for individuals who express an interest in international scientific collaboration in the Middle East region. With an average award of $5,000, travel is expected to last between five to eight weeks and should include interaction with individuals from other nations.

MD/MPH Population Health Scholar Award (Deadline: Rolling)

The Population Health Scholar Award supports student health research and practices through a Capstone Practicum or Capstone Project that addresses population health challenges and serves as a catalyst to develop partnerships and linkages at the international, national, and/or community level. The goal of this award is to encourage MD/MPH students to conduct independent, mentored, academic research using the knowledge fostered through the MPH program, and coursework.

Students may be awarded up to $2,000 of funding to aid in the administration or continuation of their capstone work.

MD/MPH Public Health Conference Award (Deadline: Rolling)

Graduate Programs would like to offer MD/MPH students the opportunity to receive up to $500 of funding to present at a public health conference. Students must have an abstract accepted at the conference they're attending and must be first author.
