Academic Advising

academic-advising

MPH, MSPH, and MD/MPH students are paired with a Faculty Advisor at the beginning of their degree program. The faculty advisor provides guidance on academic requirements and career options, and supervises the capstone program or thesis. MPH and MSPH students meet with their faculty advisor each semester before course registration to review their plan of study and discuss their future career goals. MPH and MD/MPH students brainstorm capstone field experience and project ideas with their faculty advisors, and MSPH students work closely with their faculty advisor to determine a thesis topic and select a second reader. Faculty advisors help students establish realistic capstone and thesis timelines, and ensure the student is meeting the capstone and thesis requirements.

If you are a current student and do not know who your faculty advisor is or if you want to change advisors, please contact Shameka Jenkins, Sr. Manager, Programs.
